- Green Growers meeting was on “Important Lessons I Learned As A Beginner” by Keith Warren. Keith discussed beginner problems in orchid growing. He discussed the basics of growing oncidiums, phalaenopsis, cattleya’s, and paphiopedilum’s.
- Meeting called to order at 2:10pm
- Introduction of guests: Jessica Nelson is a guest visitor today. Claire attended via Zoom from Florida.
- Approval of minutes of previous meeting: Minutes of June 20,2021 were approved.
- Treasurer’s report: Allen Koch reported the June 1 to June 30th, 2021 total of Oklahoma Orchid Society cash and bank holdings were $23,186.38.
- Old business:None
- New business: Jana Butcher called for a three member committee for recommending officers for 2022 OOS. Anyone interested should call Jana Butcher. The members voted to not have an October OOS meeting due to the October 1st to 3rd orchid show. November is the green house tour and meeting to follow for voting on officers etc. T shirts and shirts can be ordered with the OOS logo and Jana Butcher is collecting cash or a check for these. The T shirts are $15.00 ad the denim shirts are $23.00. The deadline for ordering is September 1st. and prepayment is mandatory.
- Announcements /Reports: Photos will be taken by Lowell McCabe at the August and September meetings for “redos “of established members and new members.

- Great Plains Judging Center: Twenty one plants were judged and nine were awarded.
- AOS Representative: No report
- SWROGA: Their new website is having problems and if you experience a problem with the site please email the webmaster.
- Show Chairperson: Doug Needham reported that he still needs volunteers for clerks, hospitality and reception help and sign placement for the show.
- Other Reports: The OOS society exhibit needs members to have their plants tagged and ready by 12 noon on Friday October 1st. Members may also bring their plant on Thursday September 30th at 5pm during show set up.
- Orchid Digest: Burrell Gambel discussed an orchid digest magazine about phalaenopsis and one of the authors.

- Program for the speakers meeting is Eric Sauer on The Genus Maxillaria from the AOS website entitled “There’s More than just Tenufolia.” Maxillaria are primarily from South America and need even moisture, good air movement, are relatively easy to grow and bloom twice a year . Eric Sauer owns River Valley Orchids and his web site is www.RVorchids.com.
