1. Meeting called to order by Jana Butcher at 1:00 pm.
  2. Introduction of guests. Zoom guests were Claire Garrett, Vicki Hallock, Zoe Begar and Gerritt Stryker. New member today was Laurel Newsom.
  3. Approval of minutes of previous meeting accepted today.
  4. Treasurer’s report. Alan Koch reported assets and funds as of May 31, 2021 was a total of $22,846.20.
  5. Old business. Doug Needham updated members about the Website Committee’s work on adding a membership section to the website, including the ability to join/renew membership and pay via PayPal account or credit/debit card. The Committee met June 5th, 2021. Doug said that just as Family/Household members must share a physical address, they, too, will share only one account for the website. Thus, members of the same family/household will need to share their log-in credential. Individual members will have individual accounts. The Committee recommended that OOS have a Photo Day at one or a couple of its upcoming summer meetings to take new photos of members for the online directory.
  6. New business. New chair person for membership committee. Carol Ash volunteered to be the Membership Chair – Thank you Carol!
  7. Announcements: Letter from Mary Lane who expressed her appreciation for the orchid repotting class she attended and the excellent information she was given.
  8. Reports:
    1. Green Growers presentation was given by Jana Butcher presented “Organizing My Indoor Growing” which showed led vs. fluorescent lighting , mounting of lights for growing, light meters and resources from the AOS Magazine for reading. Very nice presentation and information
    1. Great Plains Judging Center: Carolyn McCabe reported that one Award of Quality, one CCM and one CCE given. The judging center meets the third Saturday of each month in Kansas, and new judges are needed. She then explained the judging process and definitions of different levels of training and terms.
    2. AOS Representative: No report. Banquet tickets were given away and gratefully received.
    3. SWROGA: Jana asked for people to critique her presentation today and give recommendations as will be recorded for access on the SWROGA website.
    4. Orchid Digest Representative: No report

    6. October Show Chairperson: Doug Needham passed around the volunteer list for the Show, and Carolyn McCabe passed around sheets for the designs and schedule for Orchids in Use. Exhibitors need to notify Jana Butcher of their intent to exhibit in the Show.
    7. Other Reports: None
    8. Program: Carolyn McCabe presented Star Search which was a program by Beth Martin on Judging Angraecoid Orchids. Judging, hybrids, culture and points given for different awards for orchids explained.
    9. Show & Tell: Many members participated in this activity today Sales Plants: N/A
    10. Raffle Plants: Several members gave plants for the raffle.
