Green Grower Presentation was question and answers on orchid growing, diseases, repotting, watering and other questions asked of Jana Butcher, Doug Needham and Lowell McCabe. They are some of Oklahoma Orchid Society’s most knowledgable members. Take home messages were: check the roots if in doubt, know your own habits in watering, ask yourself if any new symptoms were due to new treatments, environmental changes or other factors causing changes in orchids, know your water and which fertilizer to use and lastly read about the orchid you are cultivating.

The take home messages were that Miltonia (Milt.) is grown in warmer climates and has rambling pseudobulbs topped with a pair of leaves, and Miltoniopsis (Mps.) is from high elevations and cool growing with tightly spaced pseudobulbs, each topped with a single leaf. There is some consideration for joining Miltonia and Oncidium due to similar characteristics. Her presentation was very well done and informative.
